BBC reports that it is a huge market for year-round tanning. Many people have a desire to be brown at any cost and this is now
described as "tanorexia."

50% of the population of the UK say they feel healthier with a tan.

But there are people that not only top up their tan with a trip to the sunbed before travelling off on vacation - Tanorexics, as they are known, are obsessed with having a permanent deep tan and are compelled to use tanning machines much more than is healthy.
