If you've ever made mention of visiting Paris, Most likely you have been told that the French are very rude. But are they really? Or perhaps is it just a stereotype?

Once you mention France, you hear a variety of stories that can be quite disturbing to anyone who plans to visit. The issue is that a lot of the stuff isn't even true. In reality, if you talk to someone who has actually been to France, you'll hear them singing praises of how nice the French are.

I think it boils down to golden rule which is to treat people the way you want to be treated. Sometimes, we as Americans choose to stick our nose up at others. This can cause a problem when you're in other countries such as France. Thats the reason why you hear people say the French are mean to Americans. When indeed they aren't. They are just rude to people who are rude to them.

So stop thinking you are better then everyone else and relax. Its a beautiful country and you want to make sure you have a terrific time. Make it a point to learn how to say hello and goodbye in French. If you are not fluent, just let them know. Most French people speak English fluently so they will be able to assist you.

From all of the research I have done about visiting France, most people have nothing but wonderful things to say concerning the French people. If you ask for help, they will gladly assist you to. Sometimes, even if you don't ask for help, they will offer because they can tell you are a tourist.

So all in all, the French aren't rude. Just remember to be on your very best behaviour and they will be too. So what are you waiting for? Go and have a great time!
